I spent the last 8 years in the elevator industry, part of a team that brought in over $100 million in sales in commercial elevator modernization — working with major clients like the United States Postal Service and the U.S. Mint.
For a long time, I thought that track record was what set me apart — especially as a woman in the construction industry. I was proud of it, and I still am. But little did I know how much more was coming.
In 2020, I gave birth to my daughter. Shortly after, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I knew right away that I needed to change parts of my life — diet, exercise — though at the time it didn't feel like a drastic shift.
About a year later, strange symptoms started appearing, and they kept multiplying. A year and a half after that — following countless rounds of testing for anything and everything — I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease. Six months after that, it became clear I was also dealing with six or more co-infections alongside it.
Bringing in $100 million in sales wasn't what set me apart. It was doing that while healing my body from years of chronic stress, autoimmune conditions, and old trauma.
My healing had nothing to do with traditional medicine. Once I started down that path, it opened my eyes to so much more than I expected. To get to a better place with my health, I needed to put an entirely new plan in place — an Alternate Blueprint.
That word wasn't random. Years in the elevator industry, working alongside subcontractors and other trades on the building work tied to every project, made me deeply familiar with drawings and blueprints. I always knew I wasn't walking the standard path everyone else was on — in either career. And I wouldn't trade that for anything.
Now my mission is to help others draft their own Alternate Blueprint — whether that means navigating a health journey traditional medicine hasn't been able to explain, or navigating a career and business in the construction industry.
